It's A Boy!

Hey Everyone,

Long time no post. I've had a crazy month. This is going to be my last post for awhile. I'm not completely sure as to when I will be able to do more posts. Thanks so much to everyone who's been following and I will for sure continue to check all of your blogs and you can feel free to message me on Twitter.

Now onto the ultrasound... it's a boy! I'm super excited as well as the rest of my family is. My original ultrasound had to be canceled due to the tech getting sick with no replacement, I made a new appointment which was supposed to be today. I was really bummed and hoping for an earlier appointment little did I know I would get one, but not the way I was wanting or imagining. Yesterday a friend called me who had locked herself outside of her home and I was going to pick her up until her roommate could come and let her back in. On my way to her house a car ran a stop sign and I hit them. Thankfully both my son and myself (as well as the growing baby) were able to walk away from the accident. My son was completely unharmed and I managed to get away with only minor scratches, bruises, and one burn. I had many tests done at the hospital to make sure the pregnancy was still doing well and it is, baby is safe and sound it was then I also found out the gender.

I am going on hiatus for obvious reasons... with being pregnant and feeling more uncomfortable now I am just not on the computer quite as often and I will only have less and less free time as time goes on. I've enjoyed getting to know everyone and hopefully many of you will keep in touch on twitter and possibly I can find time in the future to break back into blogging. Take care & please drive safe.

Mac Graphic Garden Dupes

The purple color - CS Dupe (L-R) 7th from the left and 4th down and then I added the color right over it on top.
The blue color - CS Dupe - 6th from the left and 5th down.
The light blue color - CS Dupe - 5th from the left and 6th down.
The dupes are not perfect matches except for the last one, but they are very close as well as affordable.

Note: I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as a base underneath all of the shadows swatched.

Graphic Garden & Lindah's Giveaway

Hey Everyone,

This is my first inspired look. It's with the MAC Graphic Garden palette, my good friend Mimi (mungchungtoo on youtube) did this look so I thought I would give it a try. I wasn't able to use all of the same products outside of what was used from the Graphic Garden palette, but I did my best to find good substitutes.

EOTD - Maybelline Stylish Smokes Natural Smokes

Hi Everyone ~

So the last post I did I mentioned how I was going to try my new Flirt e/s palette today and post an EOTD, but I failed at my attempt so I will need some more practice to make it at least something decent to look at. The colors in the palette are super pretty and nicely pigmented, however my lack of talent when I apply it I look a little bit like I have pink or bad allergies. I will keep trying though and hopefully get it posted within the week.

Since my original look fell flat. I decided to use my Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in Natural Smokes. I really like this eye shadow, very pretty. The only thing I could say that I dislike about it aside from the highlight color and the outer corner color it seems like the crease and lid colors you have to press your brush in pretty hard to pick up any color. This could be bad or good for some of you depending on what type of look you are going for. Other than that though I really like it.

All of the colors I used are from the quad nothing else added. The only thing I did differently from how it is intended is I used the lid color for my crease and the crease color for my lid.

EOTD - Loreal HIP Duo Gunmetal

Hi Everyone ~

I am still having issues with my lighting only now I am starting to think I just need a new camera all together so hopefully in the near future that will happen for me. My husband said whatever I can manage to get saved up between now and my birthday I can put towards a new camera... Yay!

Anyway, Stephanie was kind enough to send me her spare Loreal HIP Duo in Gunmetal for me to try. I think it came out pretty well... although it may not seem like it in the picture (flash washed out most of the color sadly). My friend Mimi (mungchungtoo) does a similar look on her youtube channel which is what inspired me to try this one out. Hope you like it.

I am going to try out the Flirt palette I got from Stephanie tomorrow and hopefully as goes well with it otherwise I will just post swatches haha. I am not very good at working with soft neutrals and pink toned colors may take me a few tries.

Random: My husband and I just started watching Avatar The Last Airbender on t.v. been recording all of the episodes and I love it, love it... so cute and funny.

So just in the past few months I have started to get interested in fake lashes. I tried random American brands, but they were so flimsy it just didn't work out for me. My friend Mimi told me about the Darkness lashes brand (Korean lashes) with synthetic hairs so they hold up better and she was right, however they are not available in my area. Lucky for me she was sweet enough to get some for me from California and send them over. I finally got them today and I am so excited to use them. I tried applying some tonight, but I don't have much experience with them so it will probably take a few tries for me to get it right. Thanks so much again Mimi.
I also want to add prior to today I had only used the Ardell lash glue and I do not recommend it at all, it holds well enough however it never really wants to let go so it's super painful to remove and getting all of it completely removed can be very time consuming, also since I was just starting off I got a little too close to my lash line with it and it actually ripped off some of my natural eye lashes which was bad in so many ways. The Darkness lashes come with glue, but I am yet to try it out and I went to Walgreens today to pick some Duo lash glue which is wonderful, holds great, but doesn't give you any trouble when it comes time to remove it. My only regret would be the color choice I got the dark tone which is fine since you are probably going to line your eyes anyway, but since I am a beginner if you need to re-adjust your lashes the color will dry and you end up big a lot of black over your eye so just something to keep in mind.

Brush Cleaning

So this is just how I clean my brushes. It's very simple and effective. I have only tried the MAC Brush Cleaner so I don't really have anything to compare to aside from Johnson's Baby Shampoo & Body Wash. Also since I started using the MAC Brush Cleaner it has always been paired with the Loew Cornell Brush Cleaning Jar. Which I bought from Michaels. I found out about the brush cleaning jar from Xteeener's Youtube Channel, believe she uses make up removing facial cleanser though and does part by hand.
You want to just make the sponge in the jar moist, be careful not to over do it otherwise you'll just create a mess. Then just lightly scrub your brush bristles down onto the sponge and off with the ick. I like to use a paper towel and carefully dab off any extra liquid on the brushes after I am finished. Then I just set them out to dry.

Smokey Purple E/S Look

I was just experimenting with some purple and lavender eyeshadow today. Typically I am pretty boring with my eyeshadow and just go for neutrals. I am still a work in progress when it comes to blending out my eyeshadow.

- Coastal Scents 28 Neutral Palette Matte Cream color top row 2nd over going left to right. (for highlight)
- Rimmel Eye Liner Crayon Waterproof in Black.
- Loreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Liner in Black Mica.

Diaper Cake: How To

This is a diaper cake I made for a friend. It's really simple and you can pretty much add or subtract anything from my ideas that you would like to outside of the base.

Step 1: Roll diapers, you will need to have someone help you or something to held hold them all together so they don't come unrolled. I rolled a few and held them together actually by stepping on them and once I had about 5 I put a large rubber band over them and then just kept adding until I got the desired size I wanted. You can do as many tiers as you would like, I did 3. Once you are done keep the rubber band in place.

Step 2. Decorations. To hide the rubber band I used ribbon and some decorative sewing pins to secure the ribbon around the tiers. I also took fake roses and set them inside areas of the ribbon. You can use whatever ribbon or other decorations you like.
Also keep in mind small child safe toys and baby necessities make great decorations too. Ex. pacifiers.

Step 3. Stack all of your tiers on top of one another. I don't think I need to explain the biggest goes on the bottom and then gets smaller as you go up, but just in case there you go. To help secure and steady the tiers I used a wooden dowel from the craft department in Walmart. Make sure you measure everything ahead of time so your dowel isn't sticking up too high from the diapers. I prefer mine to be a few inches higher and taking a small stuffed toy and wrapping it around the top. I used ribbon to secure the toy on this one. I have also heard of people who like to use things such as baby lotion bottles, shampoo, body wash, etc... for the center in place of the wooden dowel I used. I have never tried that, but it is a nice way to get extra goodies for the new mom to be.

And that's all it. Pretty simple and easy. It's a fun and cute way to present normal needs at a baby shower. You can make it as basic or as personal as you would like. Just have fun with it and be creative.
The bottom is just a card board cake board I got from the craft department at Walmart as well as the plastic wrap around the diaper cake. It's very cheap to do and it not only makes it look a little nicer I think, but when it comes time to transport the diaper cake it helps keep everything together.

Hi Everyone, My name is Megan. I have been considering starting a blog
for quite some time and am just now getting around to doing it.
Please bear with me because I am not totally sure what I'm doing yet.

A little information about myself. I am happily married to my husband Randy
and a stay at home mom to my 2 year old son Zackary.
Since I am a stay at home mom my husband's paycheck is
our family's only source of income and that sort of started my love
for the make up blogs and youtube videos. Since I am on a pretty strict budget
I really enjoy being able to see the reviews and testing of different products before I buy them.
Plus the make up blogs and youtube videos are just fun too.
